Our client is an American company based in San Francisco, California providing. This is a cloud communications platform that provides a set of building blocks for developers to incorporate voice, messaging, video, and other communication capabilities into their applications and services. Client's Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) make it possible for developers to integrate real-time communication features into websites, mobile apps, and various software applications. This enables businesses to enhance customer engagement, automate communications, and create customized solutions for their specific needs. The company is widely used by organizations to build and scale communication solutions, making it a fundamental tool for modern communication and customer interaction.
Client's financial condition is robust and stable, characterized by strong revenue growth, healthy profit margins, and a solid balance sheet.
For this project, it will be required to focus on migrations of containerized services from VMs to K8S clusters in AWS.
Work Schedule
- To ensure a minimum overlap with the Pacific Standard Time (PST) zone, availability is required until 10:00 AM PST (7 PM CET).
- You have the flexibility to start your workday later, but this time window is mandatory for coordination.
Responsibilities
- Migration of dozens of containerized services from VMs to K8S clusters
- Work with various AWS services
- Setting up connectivity
- Set up monitoring services like Datadog and Grafana
- Closely work with the product team to test out the flow
Requirements
- Proven DevOps experience working with K8S and containerized services
- Strong experience in Docker
- Hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, EC2, Cloudwatch, etc.) or similar cloud technologies
- Experience working on the migrations of containerized services from VMs to K8S
- Experience with Unix/Linux environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Focus on best engineering practices for quality, clean code, testing & observability
Nice to have
- Experience with tooling like DataDog, Grafana
- Experience in Java and/or Python development
