Business Need
WebMD’s Health Services At Your Side app is an exclusive platform available to users who have an account with WebMD Health Services through their employer or health plan. The purpose of the app is to inspire positive lifestyle changes and form healthier habits by providing personal assessments and health condition management through tracking daily goals and progress. With the Wellness At Your Side app users can:
•Set lifestyle goals and track progress
•Earn rewards for healthy choices
•Engage in a little friendly competition with team-based Wellness Challenges
•Take WebMD’s health assessment and get personalized next-steps to understand your health better
The initial build of the app had an unintuitive application experience, complex navigation, and an outdated design leading to an incomplete look and feel of the app.
Akvelon was selected for our expertise in mobile technologies, solid delivery reputation, and cost effectiveness. Ultimately, the task at hand was to rebuild, redesign, and reorganize the Wellness At Your Side app with the goal to revamp the responsiveness and effectiveness of the UI/UX on both Android and iOS.
Solution
Akvelon’s mobile development team first assessed and analyzed the mobile app by testing it under multiple platforms on both iOS and Android to determine the underlying issues. After the assessment, a strict timeline was composed to ensure delivery and consistency within the project scope.
Within the terms of agreement and timeline, our team built a new User Interface using Xamarin to help integrate a cross-platform functionality and overhauled the User Experience to make the app more accessible, convenient, and user friendly. Additionally, our team introduced support for new features and equipped the application with an analytics solution to gain insights into user behavior within the application. From beginning to end, our team performed the development of:
•Added homepage cards that provide easy access to the main pages of the app with smooth transitions (Assessments, Conditions, Goals, and Rewards)
