This has been a great year for Akvelon. 2017 has was full of growth, conferences, product releases and we’re excited to continue our growth into 2018. Most of all, we are thankful for everyone of you who have helped us succeed this year. We appreciate every employee, client, and partner and we look forward to furthering our success together next year.
We came into 2017 with a growth goal of 25% but thanks to onboarding many new clients such as Reddit, Pinterest, Valant and more, we exceeded this goal and ended with 27% growth. We also expanded into the San Francisco Bay Area with a new office location and grew our company to over 500 employees.
Local and National conferences were also a large focus for us this year. The GeekWire Sports Tech Summit and CloudExpo were two which stuck out. We demoed our augmented reality MiniGolf game which our developers created for the Microsoft HoloLens. Several people stopped by our booth to play the game and compete with other attendees for the best score.

In November, we attended CloudExpo conference in the Bay Area and our resident Internet of Things expert presented in a session about Intelligent Bots and managing a smart home from the Cloud. The audience and attendees were incredible and we look forward to attending several conferences in 2018.
What’s in Store for 2018
Next year will be a period of more growth and investment. Technologies such as machine learning, security and compliance, data analytics, data visualizations and blockchain will be getting more focus along with our other areas of expertise.
The San Francisco area will see an increased investment as we continue to grow our presence around the Bay as we attend more conferences and grow our client base. In addition to the West Coast investments, we will also be looking to the East Coast to setup a new office and onoboard new clients.
