Cooperation with Akvelon
Established in partnership, the Offshore Development Centre has evolved into a valuable extension of the ASG development team. The ODC performs the following tasks:
Server-side development for a series of in-house products used by different branches of ASG worldwide. The system is built using Java 5 EE with Springframework 3, Struts 2, and other related technologies. The products being developed include:
CSA3, which handles the order lifecycle starting from the customer’s request up to sending the work to the print site. CSA3 supports multiple review cycles, splitting tasks between several team members, etc.
Serialisation, which handles the process of printing secret bonus codes on packages starting from uploading code files up to preparing code batches for the printing machine.
Client-side development for the applications mentioned above. The client side is built using Backbase 4 Client Framework with custom Javascript parts.
Consulting on Configuration Management. Having profound experience in the use of version control systems and project trackers, Akvelon provides valuable assistance in improving these processes in cooperation with ASG.
Benefits and Results
The Offshore Development Centre was established and allowed ASG to improve product characteristics such as quality and development speed which also resulted in a decrease in development costs.
